Rules For Indians (or anyone else who was Born To Run) How To Survive: Rule No. 5

5.     If you are caught deviating from any societal norm or even doing something that the average citizen does routinely,(direct violation of Rule No. 1, so blame yourself) expect punishment ridiculously out of proportion to the violation.
What is normal, acceptable and maybe borderline deviant for the average citizen is criminal for you, if what you have done is actually deviant in nature, you can prepare for a long stay in a prison. Skip a few days of school and expect all hell to break loose. Try to speak to a woman you don't know, expect to have the police called, apply for employment better than you currently have and expect to be excoriated (in the seat you brought your own ass, don't forget!) as the most useless human being to ever live.
Expect any penalty to be in direct proportion to the social distance between yourself and whatever class the offended party was from. Your own, most likely, passive temperament works against you, not being able to say no (when you do say no, there is usually a "how dare you" type reaction) and stand up for yourself only gets you shuttled off into directions which can spin your life wildly out of your control. Impose some self-discipline, control your own appetites and above all, learn to love yourself because no one else will.
